This latest chapter in the history of motorcycle production in Bologna once again bears witness to the vitality of the sector during a particular decade in the economic and social history of Italy.  In the period immediately following the Second World War, Italian motorcycle manufacturing resumed with Bologna soon being confirmed as one of the most dynamic centres of production. Providing industry and craftsmanship, Bolognese companies responded to the demands of the period, their ranges focusing on small and medium-sized motorcycles and demonstrating surprising versatility. Great attention was paid to both technical and aesthetic aspects. This book reviews 55 marques, including a number of important names such as F.B Mondial and MI-VAL, Ducati and Moto Morini and M.M. and C.M. There is also a broad overview of the intensive racing programmes of those years, bringing a wealth of victories and titles.
